Sitting in first place through October in my first season as SC Bastia. Absolutely tearing it up. Shit transfer/wage budget and I could barely sell anyone, so I just loaned some people in. Starting XI:

Board Expectations: Avoid relegation/Reach R16 of the cup
And Modeste isn't great, but he's solid. He's a decent finisher inside the box, good at holding up the ball, and links up well with Rothen and Thauvin. The latter is 19-years-old in my save and has four star skills. He was already part of the squad at the beginning of my CM.

What i'm doing fantastically surprisingly.  20 games in and i'm sat 8th, level on points with 7th and 6th place Fulham and Swansea, the January window has just opened, don't think i'm going in for anybody though. Rather shocked i've just been offered the Arsenal job who are 10th. No wonder they want me. |

Thauvin is more of Winger/CAM. However, I stick him at LS, because I have no one better at the moment. He's in the low 70s in my save, and peaks at 80/81 according to some FIFA sites. I'd recommend him if you need decent speed/skills down the flanks, but I don't know how he plays in the playmaking role.
As for Modeste, I don't know if he'll grow that much. He's already pushing 25 in my sav, and I'm only in the 2012/13 season.

Meylar +3 (23) Boyd +2 (27) Quinn +1 (26) Brady +1 (20) So I think they're doing well, considering i'm halfway through the season. |

I see. That explains the Thauvin thing.
You should try and loan Luca Marrone from Juve if you need a CM/CDM. He'll probably push 80 OVR in the first season.

Don't think I need a CM/CDM this season as I want to use Cairney/Meyler and Evans, maybe a CAM/CF though. Thiago (loanie from Barca) is my only main man to play there, aside from Boyd but I prefer him as a ST next to Odemwingie or Aluko. Hm, not quite sure who I want. Any suggestions on players I could bring on loan for the final half of the season? Just to tie down mid table, possible European place push. |

The only other players I've ever loaned in were Muniesa (FC Barcelona) and Leonardo Bittencourt (Dortmund). Muniesa is a left-footed CB who he did a good job in Serie B for me. And Bittencourt is a CAM who already has decent stats to start out with, something like 90 acceleration, if I remember correctly.
I've just bought FIFA 13 again after barely having played it when it first came out, so I'm not completely up to speed on all the good loans/buys out there for CM.

Career Mode has always been my favorite game mode. I'm hoping that they make some genuine improvements for FIFA 14. All I've heard about thus far is that it will have a new interface and that the scouting system will be more in-depth.

I really want to get to the second season with Hull by I sleep tonight, soooo unlikely. I may pull an all nighter and see how i'm feeling about 6am or so. If I get a comfortable position, I'll sim a few. |

End of my first season with Hull, managed to finish 9th level on points with Everton in 8th and Arsenal in 7th. My player of the season Sinclair or Thiago. Played on World Class on upped the sliders to 70 to the CPU advantage through out the season.
£11mil transfer budget, £60k wages for the second season. Can't see myself doing better than I did last year if i'm honest, was mainly down to Thiago and Sinclair for most of my key plays. Be interesting to see if I can replace them with players just as good.
